Fake Entry

What can I say? I had a great Fake St. Patrick's Day. This fake holiday began a few years ago after the real St. Patrick's Day always seemed to always coincide with Kansas State's spring break. As Aggieville can not stand to not make a killing off of their loyal college demographic and their Daddy's credit cards, they created their own holiday celebrated a week before spring break and it's been a legend ever since.

The strip of Moro St. in Aggieville is closed from traffic, drinking commences at 8 am, and all of the bars are open from 9 am - until the wee hours of Sunday allowing for optimum day-drinking and post-nap raging for Fake Patty's participants.

Here are a few pictures of the carnage-- I mean, festivities:

Let's just say at age 23, I have perfected my Fake Patty's survival strategy. I began early, stopped at 5 p.m., took a 2 hour nap, and opted out of the post-nap "rage" option to see The Fighter which was showing at the Union.
I have no shame in showing my old age and had zero regrets when driving by the 'ville seeing the lines waiting to get into the bars around 10 p.m. The movie was great and Fake Patty's Day ended on a good note!

All around, a good time with my best friends!
